Silver in the Wood (The Greenhollow Duology, 1)

I love the mythology of the Green Man. It has always seemed unexplored territory for the gay romance fantasy/adventure arena.

This duology was a little frustrating at times with its slow reveal of important bits of exposition, but ultimately over the course of the two books the most important questions were answered. Despite this, I ultimately enjoyed the world building in this unique spin on the Green Man mythos. The story truly requires both books to play out. So I strongly recommend Drowned Country to finish out the tale.

I love the cover art. That’s what first pulled me in.

I listened to the audio versions of both books and the narrator did a great job bringing life to the story.

“A true story of the woods, of the fae, and of the heart. Deep and green and wonderful.”―New York Times bestselling author Naomi Novik

There is a Wild Man who lives in the deep quiet of Greenhollow, and he listens to the wood. Tobias, tethered to the forest, does not dwell on his past life, but he lives a perfectly unremarkable existence with his cottage, his cat, and his dryads.

When Greenhollow Hall acquires a handsome, intensely curious new owner in Henry Silver, everything changes. Old secrets better left buried are dug up, and Tobias is forced to reckon with his troubled past―both the green magic of the woods, and the dark things that rest in its heart.
