Kick at the Darkness

This is a thriller that is hard to put down. Our main characters fight zombies and survivalists and the action moves quickly, but the tension between the two is where the story is at. There are three books, but the third book is not out yet. And though there is certainly more to be explored at the end of each of the first two books, they do not end on cliffhangers (which I very much appreciate). I am impatient to read the final installment.

To live through the zombie apocalypse they have to survive each other first.

College freshman Parker Osborne is having the worst day ever. He humiliated himself trying to pick up a cute guy, he hasn’t made any friends at school, and his stupidly hot jerk of a TA gave him a crappy grade on his paper. Kick at the Darkness by Keira Andrews is a gay romance featuring enemies to lovers, sizzling first times, forced proximity, two young men finding love in the zombie apocalypse, and of course a happy ending. Book one in the Kick at the Darkness M/M shifter romance series.

(The Purple Fantastic Steam Meter gives this a 4… it gets very sexy at times, but Keira Andrews writes amazing sex scenes that rarely forget the emotional content of the relationship and the context of the moment.)
