The Teacher Inside Me

I nearly didn’t buy this book as the cover made it look more salacious and low brow than it actually is. But the reality is that it was a truly nail-biting, edge of your seat thriller. All the characters are more or less flawed and it is a bit like watching a car wreck that you can’t look away from. I could not put this book down. I read most of it in one reading and at the end of it, I exhaled like I’d been through a traumatic experience. If you like thrillers that aren’t entirely predictable, with characters who’ve put themselves into seriously messed up circumstances, you might like this.

* * * * *

A dangerous student-teacher obsession. A gay coming-of-age thriller. A story that lingers like a bruise you can’t stop touching.

“Filled with lust, yearning, and so many forbidden desires…. It suddenly shifts into a very exciting psychological thriller in its second half.”
—Reedsy Discovery

Liam is just trying to finish high school and keep his secrets to himself. Mr. Hilton, his English teacher, is everything Liam shouldn’t want—straight, married, and way off-limits—but possibly…interested. What starts as an innocent crush blurs into something more real, more intense, and more terrifying than either of them can control.

Because some lines should not be crossed. Some lessons can’t be unlearned. And some desires come at a terrible price.

The Teacher Inside Me is an emotionally charged LGBTQ+ story of longing, power, and the darkness within us all.

Perfect for fans of:
– dark academia tangled with forbidden gay desire
– age-gap erotic obsession filled with dangerous twists
– m/m dark romance with psychological depth
– literary queer fiction for adults
– contemporary banned novels
– vintage pulp fiction paperbacks
– narratives that subvert reader expectations
– stories about gay men told from a gay male perspective

It’ll get inside you.

The Purple Fantastic Steam Meter gives this a 4. The story certainly has sexual bits, but they are more disturbing than not, and are relatively restrained. The point is not the sex, but the tangled web that is being created. But it is mature subject matter. You can read more about the Steam Ratings on the About Page.
