The Alabaster Hedgehog hardbound edition at present is only available at ThePurpleFantastic.com. $20.00 + shipping
The hardbound edition is NOT available on Amazon. The cover has glossy spot varnish, the interior has faux deckle edges. I love books and am extremely happy with how the hardbound version of this book turned out. This edition also comes with a special bookmark and a new pixie poem written especially for it. This edition also includes one of my particularly popular poems, Dirty, Dirty Dishes.
I enjoyed spending time with Thaddeus and his great uncle Lester. They were so eager to get onto the page that they had a tendency to write themselves. Despite my outline and carefully delineated plot points, the writing became a dance between the outline and listening to the wishes of the characters. Thaddeus’s search for love amidst the absurd and horrific was full of surprises for me.
* * *
When 18-year-old Thaddeus’s parents kick him out for being gay, he takes refuge with a strange, elderly relative. He discovers a world of faeries, dangerous creatures, and a chance to be himself.
Thaddeus may even find someone to date, if he doesn’t need the date to be absolutely human… and if he doesn’t end up dead first.
“Awkwardly funny, occasionally twisted, and extremely imaginative….”
“A sex comedy, the world of faerie, and a dash of murder mystery.”
“An amusing read.”
(The Purple Fantastic Steam Meter gives this a 3… Thaddeus is 18 and the story does get a little sexy at times, but more on the lines of sex comedy than eros.)
