I very much enjoyed spending time with these characters. They were so eager to get onto the page that they had a tendency to write themselves. Despite starting with an outline, I was frequently surprised as the events unfolded. It became a dance between the outline and listening to the characters and their circumstances. Thaddeus’s search for love amidst the absurd and horrific was a fascinating journey for me.
When 18-year-old Thaddeus’s parents kick him out for being gay, he takes refuge with a strange, elderly relative. He discovers a world of faeries, dangerous creatures, and a chance to be himself.
Thaddeus may even find someone to date, if he doesn’t need the date to be absolutely human… and if he doesn’t end up dead first.
“Awkwardly funny, occasionally twisted, and extremely imaginative….”
“A sex comedy, the world of faerie, and a dash of murder mystery.”
“An amusing read.”
Available in Paperback, and for Kindle at Amazon at the link below.
Limited edition in hardback will be available on this site soon. These were printed privately with spot varnish on the covers and faux deckle edged pages. If you like hardbound books, these turned out quite nicely.
(The Purple Fantastic Steam Meter gives this a 3… Thaddeus is 18 and the story does get a little sexy at times, but more on the lines of sex comedy than eros.)
